Nasu Senbonmatsu Farm

📍 Tochigi, Nasushiobara

A breezy dairy farm on the Nasu plain where you can drink the milk fresh as soft-serve, pet the animals, try archery or fishing, and — on calm mornings — drift up over the fields in a tethered hot-air balloon.

Out on the open Nasu plain, Nasu Senbonmatsu Farm is a working dairy turned breezy farm-park — the kind of place where the headline attraction is a really, really good soft-serve ice cream made from that morning’s milk.

Why It’s Interesting

It’s relaxed, free to enter, and crammed with small pleasures: petting and feeding animals, pony rides, archery and fishing ponds, grass to run on, and farm food everywhere. The signature thrill, weather permitting, is a tethered hot-air balloon that lifts you gently above the fields for a wide view across the plain to the mountains. Nothing here is slick or overbuilt — it’s just genuine, sunny farm fun.

Best Time to Visit

Year-round. The balloon flies only in calm weather, usually mornings, so come early if floating up is the goal.

Getting There

Easiest by car on the Nasu plain; taxi from Nishi-Nasuno Station otherwise. Entry is free — you pay only for what you do.

Cows, fresh-milk soft-serve, and a hot-air balloon. Pure farm joy.

Cinnamon wanted a nut flavour. Settled for milk. Yelled 'YEAH!' mid-lick. 🍦
